Customize Action Positions
Float Translate lets you place built-in actions, workflows, and extension capabilities in different areas. Each area only offers actions compatible with its current input and invocation context. The exact choices depend on the capabilities and workflows that are installed, enabled, and configured.
Customizable areas
Section titled “Customizable areas”| Area | Best for | Where to customize it |
|---|---|---|
| Translation panel header | Panel-wide actions such as Screenshot OCR | More → Management mode in the translation panel |
| Translation panel input | Actions that process the current input text | More → Management mode in the translation panel |
| Translation result cards | Actions that process one translation result | More → Management mode in the translation panel |
| Floating Capsule | Frequently used actions and groups for selected text | Floating Capsule → Layout |
The bottom of the OCR panel also reserves an area for actions, but the current version does not expose controls to add, remove, or reorder them. Compatible actions that were already assigned can still appear there.
Customize the translation panel
Section titled “Customize the translation panel”- Open the translation panel.
- Choose More → Management mode in the top-right corner.
- Choose Add in the header, input, or result-card area, then select a compatible action.
- Drag an icon to reorder it. Right-click a shaking icon to remove it from that area.
- Choose Exit management mode when you are done.
Management mode also lets you change which translation capabilities participate in the panel and how they are displayed. Removing a button from an area does not delete its workflow, capability, or service.
Customize the Floating Capsule
Section titled “Customize the Floating Capsule”Open Floating Capsule → Layout. Choose an action and its destination on the right, then drag items into order on the left. You can also add groups and dividers when the layout contains many actions.
The Capsule also lets you hide an individual button, change what happens after it runs, and control how groups expand. See Floating Capsule for the complete guide.
If an action is missing
Section titled “If an action is missing”Check these conditions in order:
- The workflow or capability still exists and is enabled.
- Its extension service and capability configuration are complete and saved.
- The target area provides the input required by the action. For example, a result card provides one translation result, while the Capsule provides selected text.
- The action has not already been added to the target area. Existing actions are not duplicated in the add list.
Float Translate only shows options compatible with the target area. It does not substitute a different capability when an action is incompatible or unavailable. See Configure Capabilities to enable extension capabilities and choose their supported positions.
