Shortcuts

Shortcuts let you run Float Translate from the app you are currently using. You can assign them to core features, workflows, and extension commands from one searchable settings page.

Assign a shortcut

1. Open Settings → Shortcuts.
2. Search for the feature or command you want to use.
3. Click its shortcut field.
4. Press the key combination you want to assign.

Shortcuts are grouped by their owning feature, workflow, or extension. Search is usually faster than browsing every group.

Resolve a conflict

When a combination is already assigned, Float Translate shows the action that currently owns it. Confirm the replacement only when you want the new action to take over that combination; otherwise cancel and choose a different one.

Change or clear a shortcut

Click an assigned shortcut and press a new combination to replace it. While the input is active, use Backspace or Delete without another modifier, or use the clear control, to remove the assignment.

What you can assign

The list can include:

• Translation actions such as selected-text, input-field, screenshot, or cursor translation.
• App surfaces such as the translation panel or main window.
• Workflows you created or enabled.
• Commands exposed by installed extensions and configured capabilities.

The exact list depends on the current platform, enabled features, and configured services. A Pro badge identifies an action that requires Pro access.

If a shortcut does not work

• Check whether the operating system rejected or reserved the combination.
• Resolve any conflict shown next to the shortcut.
• Confirm that the related service, capability, or workflow is enabled and fully configured.
• Grant the operating system permission requested for global shortcuts or input access.
• Try a simpler combination to distinguish a system conflict from a feature configuration problem.
