Troubleshooting

Start with the part of the path that fails first. Translation and OCR usually depend on a chain: input capture, service configuration, result rendering, then further processing.

SymptomCheck first
No translation resultConfirm a translation service is configured and enabled
Capsule does not appearCheck whether the source app exposes selectable text and whether the capsule is enabled
Capsule fails only in an administrator appSee Windows Administrator Apps
OCR returns no textTry a smaller area, clearer text, or another recognition language
Extension capability is missingConfirm the capability was explicitly added to the capsule, panel, shortcut, or workflow
Workflow failsRun each step manually and check the input/output type between steps

If a service is skipped or unavailable, open its configuration and test the smallest possible input. Some services require credentials, a provider endpoint, a target language, or a selected mode before they can run.

OCR works best with readable source images. Try a smaller capture region, higher contrast text, and the correct recognition language.

Only use extensions from sources you trust. For external extensions, review the source, permissions, and service destinations before making them part of a daily workflow.
