Screenshot Translation

Screenshot translation combines two steps: OCR reads the image, then translation services translate the recognized text.

Screenshot translation uses an OCR service and a translation service. The default translation service is ready for first use; add or configure an OCR service if none is available.

  1. Start Screenshot Translation.
  2. Select the screen area that contains text.
  3. Wait for OCR recognition to finish.
  4. The translation panel opens with the recognized text and starts translation automatically.
  5. Review the recognized source text and translation. Edit the source text in the panel if OCR made a mistake.

Use screenshot translation for subtitles, images, scanned PDFs, remote desktops, or apps where selection is unreliable.

Use Screenshot OCR when you only need to copy or inspect the text without translating it.
